A Different Kind of Attention

I didn’t come here to feel “transformed.” Honestly, I just wanted to try something different.

The qipao surprised me. It changes how you move—slower, softer, more aware of yourself. Not in a dramatic way, just subtly.

Lei followed quietly with his camera. No instructions, no staging. He noticed small things—the way I touched the fabric, the way I paused between steps.

At some point, I stopped thinking about how I looked.

And that’s when it felt real.

Not a performance. Not a photoshoot.

Just me, in a place that didn’t belong to me—yet somehow, for a moment, felt like it did.
